Traits commonly noted in people with autism, such as a strong need for structure and intense focus on interests, can be an assets in the work force in many different fields. Adaptations and modifications are often needed, along with special training for both the individual and the employer. Although they may need extensive assistance, most people on the autism spectrum can become contributing members of society.
